Nanking has been feeding Rajshahi since 1981, and the card has grown to 162 dishes across seventeen sections — Chinese, Thai, Sze-Chuan, Indonasian and South Indian, all from the same pass. If it is your first visit, here is a short route through it.
Start with soup
The soup section is eleven deep and it is where regulars start. Special Thai Soup (৳460) is the one most tables order; Hot & Sour Soup (৳420) and Special Prawn & Chicken Soup (৳520) are the other two that move fastest. For a table of four, one large soup between you is plenty before the mains land.
The house dishes
Two dishes carry the restaurant’s own name, and both are worth ordering:
- Nanking Mashalla Chicken — ৳560
- Nanking Beef Mashalla — ৳570
If you want the kitchen showing off, the Thai Sizzling Dish (৳820) and the Thai Beef Sizzling Dish (৳770) arrive at the table still cooking.
If you eat fish
Rupchanda Fish Fry (৳800) is the pick of the fish section. Mandarin Fish (৳700) and Fish Chillies (৳700) are the safer, milder choices.
Something to share
Rice and noodles are the middle of the table. Special Chow-Mein (৳600), Chicken Fried Rice (৳420) and Malay Nasi Gorang (৳650) all serve well between two. Vegetarians are properly catered for — nine dishes, including Vegetable Chopsuey (৳550) and Vegetable Chow-Mein (৳480).
Do not skip the Kalai Ruti
The one section you will not find on another menu in town: Nanking Special Kalai Ruti with Mix Masalla (৳100), and Special Achari Beef (৳600) alongside it.
When to come
Lunch is served 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm and dinner 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, daily. The restaurant has achieved the “Recommended on TripAdvisor” sticker, given to the top 3+ rated restaurants worldwide.
Prices above are taken from the restaurant’s printed menu cards and may change — the full card, with every dish and price, is on the menu page.
